Synopsis
Endeavour Pictures assumed they would have the hit of 1958 on their hands when they acquired the rights to P.D Jones epic novel “Into the vast night sky” – alas disaster struck several weeks ago when leading lady Sophie Stapleton was found dead on set following a massive heart attack. Tensions are already high with creative conflicts between Jones, the director Theodore Pye, Head of Costumes Ruth Cooke, not to mention leading man with a leading attitude Dean Poole. Now Studio fixer Cooper Dashwood and his efficient assistant Joan Price must find the right actress to replace Sophie. There’s no lack of contenders; it’s a role everyone is just dying to get.
Character List
Bella Barnsley | Aspiring actress #1, voluptuous with a sultry exotic look, Bella is fairly new to Hollywood and eager for a breakthrough role.
Cherry Gregg | Aspiring actress #2 delicate to the point of looking frail, Cherry has had some success over the last few years but is looking for that perfect leading lady role.
Cooper Dashwood | Head of Production at Endeavor Pictures. Happily married and the rarest of all creatures in Hollywood – a decent man.
Dean Poole | Chiselled leading man with a square jaw and even squarer personality. Has a string of hits to his name and is Endeavour’s hottest property.
Joan Price | secretary to Cooper. Highly efficient, very loyal. As beautiful as any leading lady. Rumoured to be madly in love with her boss, certainly very devoted to him.
P.D Jones | Percival Darnell Jones is a writer with barely hidden communist ties. His mournful angst-ridden prose is critically acclaimed but not easily consumed by the masses.
Ruth Cooke | Head of costume design for the studio. Has carte blanche to take the costumes in whatever direction she chooses. Has no interest in fitting in with Jones’ bleak vision.
Theodore Pye | Director. Studio staple. Not looking forward to trying to turn a dull Kafkaesque drama into a hit the studio can sell.

The Boring Stuff
Trigger Warning
A crime has been committed. It’s not obvious who committed the crime because those nearest the crime are shady ladies and bent gents. If that wasn’t the case, there wouldn’t been a mystery to solve. If you are easily triggered, this is not the game for you.
