Synopsis

It's 1938 and Lady Stockwell Hamilton has invited you to a rather cosy weekend gathering at the Stockwell Hamilton country estate in the Cotswolds. Only the most interesting guests are invited…  Lady Stockwell Hamilton, a wonderful hostess but a frightful snob, her husband Lord Anthony, devilish good at making money as long as no questions are asked... Lady Frederica Crofton Maugham, a well-bred aristocrat, not that you’d know it by her frisky antics. Her husband Lord Alexander, rather too fond of card games and drink. Colonel Archibald Hitchens, a career soldier who doesn’t let patriotism get in the way of profit. And finally Lady Agatha Hunderford Glen, favourite daughter of the Earl of Marchbank. She is unmarried, but rather unsuitably engaged to an American called Dirk Salinger, who of course will also be attending.

The guest list is a bit eclectic to say the least. Lords, Ladies, American ne’er do wells, even the military are represented. And you can be assured there’s definitely a murderer…

Character List

Dirk Salinger | American. Past unknown. Largely regarded as common and, following his whirlwind engagement to Agatha, a gold digging gigolo.

Lady Agatha Hunderford Glen | favourite daughter of the Earl of Marchbank. Unmarried but rather unsuitably engaged to an American called Dirk Salinger.

Lady Charlotte Stockwell Hamilton | The wife of Lord Antony. A woman of impeccable lineage and subsequently a frightful snob.

Lady Frederica Crofton Maugham | coerced at the tender age of eighteen to marry Sander Crofton Maugham, in the desperate, but futile, hope it would curtail her wild ways.

Lord Alexander Crofton Maugham | the second son of an Earl, who was lucky enough to have a sizeable fortune settled on him on his eighteenth birthday. A few years later, his fortunes improved further when he married the handsomely dowered daughter of a duke.

Lord Antony Stockwell Hamilton | has devoted his life to growing the family fortunes through various investments and improving their social standing by marrying a very well connected and exceptionally well-bred debutante.

The Boring Stuff

Trigger Warning

A crime has been committed. It’s not obvious who committed the crime because those nearest the crime are shady ladies and bent gents. If that wasn’t the case, there wouldn’t been a mystery to solve. If you are easily triggered, this is not the game for you.
